Followers, I haven’t posted anything lately because I am now on a new site. Recently after creating my tumblr, a friend and I decided to work on a blog of our own which we decided to call “The Collab Projekt”. In the second installment of the Daily Choon, I am covering Pendulum’s, The Island, which is split into two parts: Part 1 (Dawn) and Part 2 (Dusk). Hailing from the land-down-unda (Australia), this drum and bass electronic group has been responsible for hits such as Voyager, Watercolour, and the infamous remix of The Prodigy’s Voodoo People. You may also recognize the voice of the singer, Rob Swire, as he is the one who did the vocals for Deadmau5’s Ghosts ‘N Stuff. Fresh off their album Immersion, here is The Island

Split into two parts. Dawn is bumping House with a few elements of Electro and killer vocals. Dusk is straight up dirty hard-hitting Electro, guaranteed to make you go bananas. I recommend that you listen to them in order, and also check out the rest of Immersion, if you like it, show the band some support and purchase the album on iTunes.

Winter Music Conference is a yearly event held during the last week of March in Miami, Florida. DJ’s from all over the world come together to network and perform the songs that they will be playing for the rest of the year. These artists perform in infamous venues such as Space Miami, Mansion, LIV, and the numerous hotels. However, this year, an up-and-coming venue was able to prove that it to can bring big names to the house. During WMC, the venue was able to bring in the debut of Duck Sauce, the duo between Armand Van Helden, and Fool’s Gold Records owner, A-Trak. Since then, the POPLIFE group has been able to bring in acts such as Major Lazer, Kid Sister, Breakbot, Flosstradamus, and Crystal Castles. Grand Central is quickly becoming a popular venue and is showing no sign of slowing down as it has an incredible lineup coming up including: Klever, Kill the Noise, Ninjasonik, and one of my personal favorites, Jack Beats. A spacious warehouse with plenty of seating, excellent air conditioning, relatively cheap parking, beautiful bartenders, and an amazing sound system, definitely makes this place a music lover’s paradise. I definitely recommend that everyone should check it out whenever in Miami.

Official trailer for FIFA 11 which comes out September 28th. So stoked. Game features a new Pro Passing feature, Personality + (you’ll be playing WITH Ronaldo, not with the computer as Ronaldo), the new “Be a Goalkeeper” mode, 11 on 11 online matches, & better celebrations. Overall, it’s the most realistic FIFA yet.

Bassnectar in Gainesville

Last night had to be one of the most intense nights I’ve had in Gainesville so far. Lorin Ashton, a.k.a Bassnectar, was performing at The Venue. Having been part of events such as Ultra Music Festival, Coachella, and Bonnaroo, it was a bit of a surprise when I found out he would be passing through Gainesville. However, after seeing that tickets had sold out days before the event, I realized that Gainesville is full of bass heads that share my passion for music. Anyway, its safe to say he completely destroyed the place. Playing hits such as Bass Head, Blast Off, Magical World, Cozza Frenzy, and Seek and Destroy, he really knew how to get the crowd going. He also announced that he would be playing all of his new stuff and two and a half hours later, I had heard numerous songs that I’ve never heard before, but that are going to be huge tunes in 2011. For all the bass heads out there, he will be playing in Tallahassee tonight, and continuing his Fall Tour across the US. You can check out dates at www.bassnectar.net
